What Can Be Treated in a Virtual Visit
Telemedicine can be used to address:
- A new health concern
- follow-up care;
- physical, mental, or other issues
To identify whether a sudden injury or condition requires medical attention.
When you visit your doctor or other healthcare provider using telemedicine, your provider will be able to see you, discuss your concerns or symptoms, and assess your condition. In some cases, further testing may be necessary – but for many common problems, medication or other treatment can be ordered based on that virtual doctor visit.

Benefits of a Telemedicine Virtual Visit
There are numerous benefits to using telemedicine. More than ever before, many insurance plans cover these types of healthcare visits, including Medicare. However, check with your provider’s clinic to find out what is and isn’t covered under your particular policy.
Benefits of being able to have a real-time virtual visit with your medical provider include that you:
- Can remain safe and comfortable in your own home
- Gain greater access to medical care – when you need it
- Decrease your exposure to others with potentially contagious illness or disease
- Avoid the cost and hassle of travel, parking, and other accommodations associated with a doctor’s visit
- Receive timely treatment for health issues and concerns
- Can avoid unnecessary trips to the ER
- Are more likely to be able to live independently
- Avoid wasting time in waiting rooms
What to Expect
As long as you have access to an internet-connected device with a camera, you can enjoy the convenience of a telehealth consult with your Palm Medical Centers primary care provider.
Once you have made a telehealth appointment with your provider, you will receive a link via email or text message, whichever you prefer. At the time of your appointment, you simply click the link and you will be taken to the virtual “waiting room” screen, where the visit will occur.
