May 31st is National Senior Health & Fitness Day, the nation’s leading and largest senior health and wellness event. Celebrating 30 years of participation in 2023, it’s expected more than 100,000 seniors will participate at more than 1,000 locations across the country. Palm Medical Centers is proud to be a participating facility in the National Senior Health & Fitness Day, as it is an opportunity to help those in Central and South Florida get a little more education about how their diet and exercise habits influence their overall wellness.

Participating in National Senior Health & Fitness Day is as simple as being active and proactive about your health! Our compassionate doctors outlined four easy ways for our senior patients to get into the spirit and celebrate National Senior Health & Fitness Day for themselves.
1.Join a Class at Palm Medical Centers’ Senior Wellness Centers
Palm Medical Centers is proud to offer Wellness Centers at each of our multiple locations across South and Central Florida. Each senior wellness center provides a wide range of physically and mentally stimulating activities to ensure patients are both well-educated and active participants in their health and fitness. While activities may vary from location to location, popular classes for our patients include:

Walking is a great, low-impact exercise that is good for the heart and blood circulation. The term “long walk,” has a different definition for everyone, so we encourage patients to walk for however long they are comfortable.
3. Cook a Healthy Meal
Maintaining good health means more than just staying active – it means taking care of your body from the inside out. Cooking a healthy meal with your friends or loved ones is a great way to celebrate National Senior Health & Fitness Day. We encourage our patients to make meals rich in vitamins and nutrients by adding a variety of vegetables, healthy fats, and lean proteins to their plates.
